Welcome to
WOMEN HALLOWED IN PRAYER
1. NAME TWO OF THE THREE MARYS WHO STOOD BY THE CROSS OF JESUS.
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joses.
Matthew 27:56
Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.
2. HOW MUCH DID THE POOR WIDOW WHOM JESUS COMMENDED PUT IN THE TEMPLE TREASURY?
Two mites
Mark 12:42
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
3. WHY DID JESUS DEFEND MARY’S EXTRAVAGANT USE OF OINTMENT WHEN SHE ANOINTED HIM AT BETHANY?
Jesus defended the women with the alabaster box of precious ointment because she was anointing Jesus for his burial.
Matthew 26
6. Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7. There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9. For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
4. WHOSE MOTHER-IN-LAW WAS HEALED OF A HIGH FEVER BY JESUS AND AROSE TO SERVE HER GUESTS?
Peter
Matthew 8:14-15
When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
5. WHAT DID JESUS OFFER THE SAMARITAN WOMAN AT THE WELL IN SYCHAR?
Living water
John 4:5-14
5. Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12. Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
6. WHO WAS THE ELDERLY PROPHETESS WHO REJOICED AT SEEING YOUNG JESUS AT HIS PRESENTATION IN THE TEMPLE?
Anna
Luke 2:36-38
36. And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37. And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
38. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Hey Sis,
This was really good, you have 100%, but you made me have to go back and do some research. For number 1 I had John 19:25 for my scripture, you had Matt 27:56. Both are correct. Thanks for that lesson.
Number 3, again you gave me Matt 26: 12, I had John 12:3-5,7, both are correct.
Thanks for sending me on a neede journey
Awesome, the story of Jesus is told in more than one of the gospels. I so enjoy searching the scriptures. This is such a blessing for me.
me too, I found that out from this nourishment, thanks so much!
